Wall Decor - DIY

Do you have a big blank wall in your home? We did. We had no idea what to do! Then, I watched HGTV's Miles of Style show. They where also filling up space and stretched fabric & wall paper on wooden frames!

What a clever Idea!

I was very overwhelmed with all the beautiful fabric choices and decided to go with the wall paper.

Our local Sherwin Williams had really great choices. I "rented" out a few "textured" wallpaper books and my husband and I decided on Pattern number SW1AW616 from the book WARNER TEXTURES VOL 1, you can view it here.

This is what we came up with :)

Please excuse the messy stapling, our heavy duty stapler wasn't working very
No one sees it anyway ;)

This is how my husband built the frame. 6ft tall and 21 inches wide.

In order for you to have all 4, you'd need to order a double roll, like we did.

We measured the roll, and that's how we came up with the width, we didn't want to cut any sides ;)

The frames are pretty heavy. We got a few 2x4 boards and hubby cut them using a table saw to 2x2.
We were thinking about buying the super light cedar, but it wasn't fitting our budget, plus, this worked out very well for us :)

We had some left over wall paper, and hubby surprised me with this little arrangement. :)
It's hanging in our office. More on that to come :)

What we used:

Double Roll wall paper - about $60
"Lumber" lol - $10
Heavy Duty Stapler w/staples - Already Had
Table Saw - Already Had
Hammer and Nails - Already Had

This project cost us around $70!! I don't think we'd be able to buy something for that little $$ that would fill up the space like that, give it texture and dimension!

We get TONS of compliments! :) I'm really happy how it turned out!

Thank you so much for looking!

Please comment and tell me what you think!

Topiary Trees in Kitchen

I absolutely love the look of Topiary trees in the kitchen, on each side of the sink! Especially if there's a window right above it!
 via Corbis Images

Don't you just love how they look? I would like a cleaner tree though, no ivy on the bottom, I think this is the best image i found though.

This photo is also very inspiring, even though it's Christmassy.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chrome pots!

I'm trying to get the look in my kitchen! Post coming soon on that!

Living Room Inspirations

I am in the middle of working on my living room. I have to say, my style is very clean and matchy-matchy. I know in the real home design world, it's not like that. I am trying to go beyond my style, and see what else is there that calls my name :)

I love the brown tones in this room, my living room space is not as big and beautiful, but this is definitely an inspiration to me!

I love this couch :) I currently have matchy-matchy ivory leather loveseat, chair and ottoman. In the very near future, I want to get rid of the set and get something like this:

or this
Crate & Barrel Azure Sofa

Although I doubt my hubby will like the Azure Sofa, it's so beautiful though!

I also really like this little Settee, also from Crate & Barrel

I'm really liking earthy tones ;) I would add a punch of color with pillows and accessories :)

I LOVE the accent chairs and ottoman here and there! It puts the space soo together!!! I absolutley LOVE it! Also the tall ceilings with amazing curtains, ah..maybe next home :)
I also wish we had a fire place :) Again....maybe our next home :) lol

Thank you for looking!

A little bit about me :)

I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful little boys :) 31months and 2 months. :) They are my life, my everything. (Yes, I DO have moments when I want to run away, in case you were wondering)

I am also a wife to a wonderful man, who is there for me every step of the way, through think and thin, for better and for worse ;) Uh, i just love him!

Besides being a mom and a wife, I am also a princess :) Yes, my Father is the King of the Universe! I enjoy spending time with Him in prayer, devotion, and feel His presence through my daily life :)
I <3 Him!

I decided to finally write a blog of my own because I absolutely LOVE reading what other people have to say about their kids, house decor ideas, and the little things in life :)

If you do happen to stumble upon this blog, please leave me a comment and let me know you stopped by! :)

I will try my very best to write often, about my passions; kids, motherhood, home decor, and little inspirations :)

Hello World!

I am so excited to finally share my love and inspirations with the world! All about family, and motherhood, but most of all, my love for interior design!
